तुम्हारे आराध्य अनन्त वो,

मेरा मै ही आराध्य हूं,

संबंध न हमारे धर्म का,

पर तर्क संबंध का बाध्य हूं,

खोज मेरी मै तुम्हे मानता हूं,

तुम स्वयं के निर्माण कर्ता हो,

सत्य यह भी मै जानता हूं,

तुम सा न श्रेष्ठ जग में,

हर प्रमेय भी अधूरा है,

अधूरा गणित का हर फलन,

कुछ भी कहां पूरा है ?

पर आज मिथ्या सा लग रहा,

पत्र ये मुझे है छल रहा,

कर रहा आघात हर पल,

जो आज था वो कल रहा।

It seems strange when a star in our eye makes its place in the open sky. Leaving some stories of life incomplete, when someone close to us becomes an anecdote, then it becomes difficult to handle the heart. Perhaps even G.H. Hardy could not contain himself when he received a letter about the passing away of Sri Niwas Ramanujan. This poem dates to the same time when Hardy received the news of Ramanujan's death.
